You have worked hard for it and you spend a lot of time and money having your custom printed shirt. Now, you want to have the shirt the longest possible. You want to wear it many many times and wash it many many times with less or no fading of the printed design at all.
And yes, it is possible to preserve your custom printed shirt’s pristine look the longest possible with just few tips.
First, cold water washing is always the best for just about all clothes. Washing in hot water, good for sterilization of towels, wash cloths, beddings and so on, but not good for clothes. Hot water weakens the fibres of clothes and in turn affects the prints. And so, wash your custom printed shirt with cold water and let the laundry soap does its job.
Second, turn the clothes inside out before putting it in the washing machine. This will prevent the custom print from rubbing against surrounding materials. You can also try bagging it. You can put custom printed shirt inside a mesh bag to protect it.
Third, watch how you use stain removal chemicals. Certain fabrics require certain stain treatments. Some fabrics may be able to stand long period of soaking, some may not. If you must a stain remover, make sure it is a color-fast one. Just be careful with laundry chemicals as certain ones weakens fibers of clothes.
Fourth and lastly, if you can avoid machine drying, do so. Dryers can shrink your garment. Air drying your garments is always recommended.
